\u00ab On se souvient du tsunami qui, fin d\u00e9cembre 2004, a ravag\u00e9 la c\u00f4te ouest de Sumatra. La c\u00f4te ouest de Nias n\u2019a pas fait exception m\u00eame si officiellement le bilan des victimes sur place (127 personnes) \u00e9tait plut\u00f4t faible compar\u00e9 aux milliers de morts sur la c\u00f4te voisine. Localement, la trag\u00e9die du tremblement de terre, du 28 mars 2005, a \u00e9t\u00e9 nettement plus meurtri\u00e8re puisque pr\u00e8s d\u2019un millier d\u2019habitants (968 personnes pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment) ont p\u00e9ri dans les d\u00e9combres de la catastrophe. \u00bb

Comme souvent, le tsunami a eu un impact sur le plateau corallien qui s\u2019est relev\u00e9 sous l\u2019impact. La vague est devenue plus creuse et plus tubulaire.

I have been to Nias quite a few times in the past and its a really great wave to photograph. From the land you have the wave in the foreground and the jungle on the other side of the bay in the background. From the water you can see the village and all the accommodation in the background. Drones have added another fantastic element to lineup photography though. A shot like this would\u2019ve been nearly impossible 10 years ago.
