Que cette photo figure en si bonne place dans \u00ab Line up \u00bb est une \u00e9vidence, car les vagues de \u00ab Cooly \u00bb incarnent le spot de surf par excellence. Nous avions plusieurs angles de vue de Coolangata. Mais cette photo classique est parfaite.<\/p>\n

Elle nous a accompagn\u00e9s depuis le d\u00e9but du projet pour expliquer le type de vagues que nous voulions pr\u00e9senter. C\u2019est donc une des rares que nous avions choisi de d\u00e9voiler, sans risquer de la surexposer, car on ne s\u2019en lasse pas.
\nLes parties du spot visibles sur cette vue sont Snappers, Greenmouth et Rainbow. Suit le pic de Kirra que l\u2019on ne voit pas.
\nAu loin, on aper\u00e7oit au niveau de Duranbah le Bypass (la grande jet\u00e9e blanche en haut \u00e0 droite) qui transporte le sable pour re-engraisser toutes ces plages. Sans cet apport artificiel de sable, le spot de Kirra n\u2019aurait pas cette qualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

The Superbank was at its best soon after the Tweed River Sand Pumping started in the early 2000s. What was previously three seperate waves (Snapper Rocks, Rainbow Bay, and Greenmount) became one long leg-burning ride and on a few occasions people rode waves from Snapper Rocks all the way through to Kirra. Over 1.5klm. This photo was shot from a helicopter in the mid 2000s. The bank was still pretty amazing but finished halfway along Coolangatta beach so was not quite as long as it was when it was first created.
